Very proud and grateful to announce that my series ‘Ever After’ was awarded the 1st prize in the category ‘Film/Analog - Fine Art, non-professional’ in the 2024 edition of the International Photography Awards. I am particularly stoked because this was the first time I (a) entered a series instead of single images and (b) this is the first time I submitted images that were captured on film with my trusty Hasselblad.
Welcome!
'Don't shoot what it looks like, shoot what it feels like.'
Not my words but a quote from a famous Swedish photographer. I try to live up to this in my photographic work.
I am an enthusiastic photographer with a distinct preference for fine art landscapes and waterscapes. I always try to translate my personal vision into the photograph which is therewith so much more than just a registration of a subject. To move away from reality even more, I tend to use long exposure times and convert the image to monochrome or desaturate the colors to my liking.
This website contains a small selection of my work and should give you an insight of the types of photography I am into. I hope you like what you see. Please feel free to get in touch with me should you have any questions or comments. Also, be sure to sign up to my mailing list to be informed on my upcoming print sales! Many thanks for this in advance.
Interview
In 2021 I have been interviewed by Mark de Rooij from Mark de Rooij Fotografie about my photographic work, mainly focussing on my b&w long exposure work. This interview (sorry, only in Dutch) is now available on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiTs9p9wrBs&t=151s
